Historic Soulard: Great Places to Party or Kick Back with Friends and Family

Situated just south of downtown St. Louis is the pleasant, longstanding neighborhood of Soulard. With its historic designation, farmer’s market and restaurants, it’s a wonderful place to live.  Plus, when the sun goes down, there are fun places available for those that like to kick up their heels or kick back with cocktails. Here’s a quick look at several spots where adults can get their party on:

1860s Saloon (South 9th Street)

Talk about a one stop fix for night owls! The 1860s Saloon has what every partier needs. For starters, there’s free shuttle service and other public transportation available. So there’s no need for woozy folks to try and drive. Plus, they offer patrons great food, fantastic cocktails, beer and wine. Live music is typically provided nightly and there’s a game room onsite too. On top of that, they’re caterers.

Bar 101 (3rd and Lafayette)

Bar 101 over on 3rd and Lafayette is really a one stop fix as well. They’ve got a party bus, patio deck, cabana, pub grub and three bars onsite but that’s not all. There are two dance floors, party rides, a private lounge, indoor gym/training area and four volleyball courts available that patrons love to make use of too. In addition, it’s where the local volleyball league, beach boot campers and yoga enthusiasts meet to get fit. For those that are interested, food delivery is available.

Joanie’s Pizzeria (Menard & Russell Boulevard)

If you prefer a more laid back place that serves a mean slice, try Joanie’s Pizzeria. They offer free shuttle service, Italian classics, wine, beer and cocktails daily. Furthermore, they typically host special events two to three nights a week. The list of events includes, but isn’t limited to open microphone nights, trivia contests and live musical entertainment. Oh, and by the way, they deliver as well.

Llywelyn’s Pub (South 9th Street)

When you’re in the mood to shoot some pool, woof down Irish cuisine, enjoy a beer or take a trolley to the game, stop by Llywelyn’s Pub. They typically run fabulous food specials all week long and they often hold trivia contests. One dish you can’t miss is the fried Irish pie. It’s perfect!
