Central West End: A Great Place to Start the Holiday Shopping Season
Before long, many of us will be wandering through St. Louis’ neighborhoods in search of the perfect holiday gift. And we’d be hard pressed not to suggest at least a visit to Central West End. Located near Forest Park, it was once the home of Tennessee Williams, the man behind the odd Christmas story, The Mutilated. It’s also where you’ll find a large number of boutiques and high end shops like the following:

Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier (Maryland Plaza)

What are the holidays without decadent treats and wine? We are sure that you’ll find more than your fill at Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier over in Maryland Plaza. They have their signature chocolates, like milk molasses puffs and crème mints on offer as well as seasonal favorites for the kids on your list. For the adults, why not go with wine infused delights instead. They include salt caramels flavored with your choice of merlot or chardonnay and chocolate covered wine grapes too.

Cassie’s Fragrance Boutique & Scent Bar (North Euclid)

Of course scented oils, perfumes, lotions and soaps always make great holiday gifts. Look for them at Cassie’s Fragrance Boutique & Scent Bar. It’s tucked away on North Euclid. Items that you may want to pick up in time for those holiday parties are Stardust Lotion and scented oils like Pine Needles, Alpine Meadow, Frankincense, Myrrh and Champagne.

Christiane’s Handcrafted Jewelry (North Euclid)

Also on North Euclid is Christiane’s Handcrafted Jewelry. The woman behind all of the boutique’s handmade jewelry is a German native with an impeccable sense of style. The majority of her pieces have design elements that any nature lover will surely appreciate. Within her well kept store you’ll find bracelets, pendants, rings, earrings and necklaces that are all geared towards fashionable ladies.

Ivy Hill (Ladue Road)

While you are still in the mood to choose gifts for the ladies, consider swinging by Ivy Hill on Ladue Road. They sell all sorts of things, including designer dresses, cute satchels, scented candles, vintage serving trays and amazing scarves. Plus, they sell gift certificates too. They are wonderful for those women who are just too hard to figure out.

Regency Superior (North Euclid)

Last on our list, but certainly not the final store in Central West End, is Regency Superior. It is a really cool auction house that has an assortment of collectibles that’s out of this world. For instance, they have books signed by authors like Ayn Rand, Robert Frost and J.K. Rowling. In addition, you might find autographed Hollywood, space, military and sports memorabilia.
